Emily 7 have announced their brand new single 'Somebody' will be released on all digital streaming platforms on Friday June 4th 2021. Hot off the heels of a feature in RTE One’s My Tribe, the 4 Dublin lads are delighted to release a fan favourite from live sets as a single.
Recorded and mixed by Daniel Doherty in Darklands Recording studio (Fontaines DC), 'Somebody' is a fast-paced indie rock stomper with some 60s rock n roll influenced guitar licks, punky drums and a modern twist on Motown influenced hook. Clocking in at 3 and a half minutes, Emily 7 spare no time with this anthem.
Consisting of two brothers and two friends, Emily 7 are an Indie Rock outfit from Dublin, Ireland. Forming in 2017, the band have gone from strength to strength in the Irish music scene. Originally they started as a two piece, brothers Kyle Bellew and Scott Bellew, on vocals/guitar and drums respectively. The brothers were later joined by guitarist Daniel Clarke, and bassist Brandon Carrig, who together brought a no nonsense cohesive sound, forming what we now know as Emily 7.
Known to show up and gig anywhere that would have them, Emily 7 have garnered a reputation for being one of Dublin’s hardest working bands. Thriving their way through the open mic scene, then led them to start playing their own headline shows in prestigious Dublin venues such as Whelans, The Workman’s Club and The Underground as well as a set at Electric Picnic.
Emily 7 are also brand ambassadors with Fred Perry as part of their Subculture series. In
March 2021, the band were featured in the RTE series ‘My Tribe’ which focused on the Indie music scene in Ireland.
Emily 7 are due to headline Whelan’s on October 1st 2021 (tickets available from Ticketmaster). As well as a headlining a live gig later in the year. Emily 7 were hand-picked as the first act in Whelan’s iconic Ones to Watch Festival. Their Live Stream gig will be
published mid-2021.
