On the back of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘We Are Girls’, Bristol’s grunge-pop trio IDestroy are back with a new single and video. ‘G.O.D’ showcases everything the band represent – straight to the heart, girl-powered rock and roll that’s overflowing with attitude and grit. Both the track and video will be available from the 21st May.
After receiving hefty radio support from BBC Radio 1, Radio X, BBC 6 Music, Planet Rock and many more, IDestroy are currently riding a wave of success, with shows lined up for July too.
G.O.D’s powerhouse drumming and growling bassline create the foundations for an absolute ruckus of a tune. Controlled chaos from the get-go, the fuzzy guitars, heavy chords and no-nonsense playing make for an arena-sized anthem that is led by the inimitable vocals of Bec Jevons, whose fearless and ferocious delivery takes the single to the next level. On their new single, she added:
G.O.D was inspired by the disconnect between people’s online status versus reality. It represents the conflict of exaggerated or elaborated attitudes and behaviours through social media which is a juxtaposition against their lived experiences.”
Standing up for women everywhere as they fuse New York punk, UK grunge and downright catchy songwriting, IDestroy haven’t take their foot off the gas since forming in 2015. The three-piece have played more than 300 gigs worldwide, including sell-out shows in South Korea, multiple tours in Germany, and visiting just about every corner of the UK too.
Now armed with their debut album and a huge new single, they’re ready to hit the road once more:
29th July - Bristol, Rough Trade
30th July - Southampton, The Hobbit
31st July - Brighton, The Prince Albert
